Social media has kicked the doors wide open. However, video ads are still proving to be the most effective. Here are some tips for creating social media friendly videos to market your business.

Keep it short. Most people will skip an ad after 5 seconds if they are able, so make your content quick and to the point. Easily consumable content that’s upbeat and declarative performs far better than longer videos. Keep the length 2 minutes at the most and use the same content to create shorter versions for Instagram and Twitter.

Stay relevant. As with all advertising, it’s important to know your audience — and most social platforms make this process fairly simple. Look at the average age and other demographic info of the users who engage with your content to see who you are having the most success with. This will help you craft a video and delivery strategy tailored to your target audience.

Make it clear. Text is a huge aspect of video ads which can often be overlooked. Pretty much every platform will allow you to add captions and text overlays on your videos which will make them easier to consume and highlight the important bullet points of your products. And since 70% of viewers watch ads with the sound on mute, it may be your only chance to reach them.
