Like many digital agencies who have stood the test of time, we too have noticed a GIANT shift in user behavior. Back when we first started out, user behavior was very linear and predictable. Whichever way your prospects found you was likely the same way they would convert and buy. Much has changed in 10 years. About a year ago, we found ourselves going about our daily mission: to maximize total net profit for our clients, when our VP, Aaron Putnam got an email from a client who was requesting to cancel services.
Their email read that they, “appreciate the hard work and great service” and that they “regret to inform us” but they had “decided to go in a different direction.” And so of course, we called up the client to get some additional feedback and learned that despite the years of great service we provided, they were trying out another agency which offered more services than what they were getting from KSP, Inc.. These services included things like Facebook Retargeting and Conversion Rate Optimization. You see there is obviously nothing wrong with aspiring for a more in depth conversion strategy. The terrible part of this story is that we had been providing those services to our other clients for a few years!
We asked the client, “Why didn’t you just ask?” and they replied with, “I had no idea you guys did that! But it’s too late now because I already paid the new agency.” When this particular advertiser told us that we basically didn’t come to mind for those services, we knew we had to change.
